Collins makes NBA history

Los Angeles -- Jason Collins made NBA history Sunday, becoming the first openly gay player to play in a game.

Collins, who signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets, jumped into the game against the Los Angeles Lakers with about 10 minutes left in the second quarter. Collins was given a standing ovation as he entered the game.

While the importance of the moment was not lost on Collins, he said his focus is still on playing the game. The Nets went on to win 108-102.
