Study: Breakfast doesn't spark weight loss

Bethesda, Md. -- New research has called into question a common belief about breakfast.

Researchers at the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition said eating breakfast will not necessarily help you lose weight.

A new study found no proof the meal will boost metabolism or lead people to eat less during the day.

However, researchers still believe breakfast has its benefits. They said people who eat the meal tend to eat more whole grains, low-fat dairy and fruit than those who skip it.
