Sodus murder victims remembered

Lyons, N.Y. Those who knew 54-year-old Terri Moulton and her daughter 30-year-old Stacey held a candlelight vigil Sunday to remember their lives.

They were my neighbors, Ive known them for a long time, said friend Wanda Beal. They were wonderful people, fellow Christians, the sort of person they would help out anyone in need.

Terri and her daughter Stacey were known for their kindness and love of animals.

If you know Stacey and Terri you know that any animal in need got the help that it needed, said Beal.

On July 14, Terri and Stacey stopped at a friend's house in Sodus to check on the family's pets while they were away.

That neighborly gesture would turn the small town upside-down. Police said Terri and Stacey walked into a burglary in progress--and were murdered as a result.

People are frightened, people are really frightened, said Beal. We always watch out for our neighbors homes when we know they're not there, and this totally took us by surprise.

Beal said in time they will heal, but will never be the same. I don't think any of us will ever get back to normal, more people will be locking their doors, said Beal So we'll just have to see what time brings.
