Local Farm Market Hosts Blueberry Bonanza

Henrietta, N.Y. – Gro-Moore Farms hosted a blueberry tasting Sunday.

Customers got to sample blueberries and related products like blueberry pie, syrup and muffins – and listen to a live blues band.

Blueberries are in season from early July until mid-to-late August.

Jack Moore, one of Gro-Moore’s owners, said blueberries are plump and juicy this year thanks to all the recent rain.

"I think they're like the universal fruit,” Moore said. “They taste good. I like to eat them in yogurt, some people put them in cereal, other people like to eat them fresh."
