Officer justified in use of force

Waterloo, N.Y. – The Seneca County District Attorney has found that a sheriff’s deputy was justified in shooting a person in June.

The shooting happened on the evening of June 13, 2013 on Pre-Emotion Street in Waterloo.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation and turned its finding over to the district attorney’s office.

The evidence showed the use of force was justified.

The deputy administered first aid to the person who was shot. That person was taken to the hospital and released a few hours later.

Three witnesses supported the deputy’s account of what happened.
