Rochester's low numbers on Medicare spending

Rochester, N.Y. – People in Rochester spend less per beneficiary on Medicare than most other areas in the country.

A national report found Rochester had the lowest total Medicare health spending rate per beneficiary in the U.S. among more than 300 regional markets.

That rate is $174 lower than the average.

Buffalo had the fourth lowest cost, while Syracuse ranked 19th.
