Man accused in mother/daughter murder pleads not guilty

Wayne County, N.Y.-- Dante Taylor plead not guilty to eight counts of first-degree murder, burglary and arson in Wayne County Court, Wednesday.

He is accused of stabbing Terry Moulton and her daughter Stacey to death during a burglary attempt in Sodus.

The women were taking care of a vacationing neighbor's cat when they interrupted the burglary in progress.

Taylor was identified as a suspect almost immediately, based on his parole history and a vehicle that was identified at the scene.

Taylor was originally arrested on a parole violation. He has a lengthy criminal past including attempting to escape on two separate occasions while in custody.

Outside court he said he is not guilty. His attorney entered that same plea inside court today.

Taylor is being held without bail. He will be processed at the Wayne County Jail, then returned to Monroe County pending his next court appearance.
