Drivers, businesses frustrated by Irondequoit construction

Irondequoit, N.Y. Construction projects are an inconvenience many of us cope with during daily routines, especially during the summer months.

The ongoing project on East Ridge Road in Irondequoit is taking a toll on drivers and businesses nearby.

Businesses have been dealing with changing driving patterns and work on the sidewalks outside their stores since last summer. Some say they have lost customers because of it.

Drivers say theyre finding ways to go around East Ridge Road to avoid congestion.

If you get off the wrong one, you're going to sit there 15-20 minutes just waiting for the line to go down, especially during the week, said driver Amy Christoff. Yeah, its crazy.

Construction is expected to last through November in Irondequoit.
