14-year-old passenger rescues crash victims

Fayette, N.Y. -- Seneca County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a single vehicle crash, where a teenage- passenger pulled out the others still inside the SUV as it took on water.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon in Fayette on Post Road. Fayette Crews at the scene believe Holly Klue, 18, lost control of her Ford Explorer, while rounding a curve.

The car flipped, and landed upside down in a small pond on the side of the road.

The vehicle was almost completely submerged in water, when the rear seat passenger was able to climb out, dial 911, and rescue the driver and other front seat passenger, who were still stuck inside. The front seat passenger was 16-years-old.

Everyone involved in the crash suffered minor scrapes and bruising.

Klue was issued a citation for speeding and not being prudent of road conditions.

Investigators say her speed around the curve combined with the loose gravel was a main contributor to the accident.
