Halliburton pleads guilty to destroying evidence in BP oil spill

Washington - Representatives from the energy company Halliburton will plead guilty to destroying evidence in the biggest oil spill in U.S. history.

According to court papers, Halliburton officials threw out test results related to the BP Deep water Horizon spill that killed 11 workers.

Halliburton agreed to a $200,000 fine and three years probation.

In exchange, the U.S. Department of Justice indicated it will not pursue further charges.
