United Airlines layoffs coming to Rochester
Rochester, N.Y. - More than three dozen United Airlines workers in Rochester are losing their jobs.
In a Monday filing with the New York State Department of Labor, the company said it plans to contract work to an outside vendor.
The United Airlines added it’s laying off about 40 employees at the Greater Rochester International Airport.
United will close its customer service and ramp operations at the airport in mid-October.
United Airlines provided 13WHAM News with the following statement:
“We are considering transitioning some of our operations work at select airports to an outside vendor. These are difficult decisions, but we must continually look for new opportunities to run a more efficient and financially sustainable business.”
