Brighton teen who crashed into bus accepts plea

Brighton, N.Y. – A Brighton teenager will spent four weekends in jail as part of a plea agreement he accepted Wednesday in connection with a crash that seriously injured three of his friends last year.

John Zakhary, 17, pleaded guilty to four of the nine charges, including three counts of assault and one count of reckless driving.

Zakhary is accused of driving recklessly when he slammed into the back of a school bus on Warren Avenue last October.

The parents of the injured teens want the community service to include talking to teens about reckless driving.
