State Police investigating serious crash in Geneseo

Geneseo, N.Y. - State Police are investigating a serious crash on Route 63 in Geneseo.

Authorities tell 13WHAM News that around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a car with three occupants from Virginia was heading north on Route 63, when it veered in the southbound lane, and crashed head-on into a sedan.

That sedan had two occupants - a husband and wife from Dansville, Christine and James Wallace, both in their 60s.

The driver of the car from Virginia, Kyong McFadden, 51, was taken to Strong Hospital via Mercy Flight. She suffered a broken leg along with several other injuries. James Wallace suffered head lacerations. The other four people involved in the crash were taken to Strong by ambulance.

Troopers do not yet know why the car from Virginia veered into the other lane - but do not suspect alcohol to be a factor.

The accident caused closings on Route 63 in both directions - from Exit 7 on 390, to 39.
