"Tough Miller" fundraiser honors man killed in freak accident

Pittsford, N.Y. – Family and friends remembered a man killed when a tree fell on the car he was driving in East Rochester June 2.

Jeff Miller, 47, of Pittsford, loved lacrosse, working out, and his family and friends.

The Tough Miller fundraiser Saturday combined those things to raise money for Miller’s three teenage kids to go to college.

The event featured a lacrosse game and clinic, CrossFit workouts and silent auction.

Organizers said the fundraiser represented the passion Miller put into everything he did. They were pleased with the turnout, but said there’s still a lot of hurt.

“We miss him,” George Forsyth, who played lacrosse Miller, said. “He was a great man – a great friend, a great dad, a great boyfriend, and for his kids all the way around."
