What Will Happen To B & L Treasures?
Rochester, N.Y.-Its a collection of historical pieces, more than 150 years in the making, but there is no clear plan for the items stored within Bausch & Lomb.
Im concerned that it wont be available so the public cant see the contribution Bausch & Lomb made to the world from Rochester, said former B & L worker Terry Shaw.
Valeant Pharmaceuticals recently purchased B & L, it has cut more than 400 local jobs.
Their focus is not going to be on the little archives that exist here in Rochester, exclaimed Shaw.
His suggestion is that the items be donated to a museum or to have a new museum created to house the collection of art and antiques.
A spokesperson for Valeant said there are no current plans to move historical items out of Rochester. When asked whether there were any plans for the items, the company said the following:
We are not ready to discuss this at this time. At the appropriate time we will determine the best possible location for the historical items.
