PGA offers fans a closer view of the tournament

Pittsford, N.Y. - If you have trouble getting through the crowds at the PGA, the tournament will offer a close view at all plays from the palm of your hand.

"We've come a long way since the Ryder Cup in 1995 where we didn't have any of these devices -maybe a jumbotron," David Charles, PGA Senior Director of Championships said.

Fanvision looks like a hand held gaming system but gives golf fans every live view and angle of the PGA tournament at Oak Hill.

"There's 18 holes where all the action is going on so you can stay connected to all the action on the entire golf course - right here on your fan vision device," Charles said.

Spectators can track the leaderboards, their favorite players, and find out how to get around the golf course.

"There's a course map, you can find out where everything is on the property, restrooms, concession stands, first aid," Charles said.

The tournament will only have 5,000 devices available.

Fans can rent one each day or for the entire tournament.

Prices range from $20 to $75.

You can buy the device in advance online or the day of, onsite.
