1 dead, 5 injured in car crash

Seneca Falls, N.Y. - Leonard Fabian, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene of a car accident Friday evening.

According to the Ontario County Sheriffs Department the Baldwinsville resident was the backseat passenger in a vehicle that was struck at the intersection of county roads 4 and 20 in the Town of Seneca around 6 p.m.

The driver Andrew Clark, 25 allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and the vehicle was struck by a 2011 Toyota driven by Phyllis Fritz of Honeoye Falls.

The crash caused Clarks vehicle to flip and authorities say Fabian was partially ejected from the car.

There were two other passengers in Clarks vehicle at the time of the crash. Kevin Gabriel, 26, was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Lifenet Helicopter with back injuries. Travis Woodward, 27, was taken to Strong by Mercy Flight, and Clark was transported to the hospital to treat an arm injury.

All three are in guarded condition at this time.

Phyllis and Ronald Fritz, both 66, were transported to Strong with minor injuries. Phyllis Fritz is in satisfactory condition and Ronald was discharged.

Clark was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He is scheduled to appear at Seneca Town Court at a later date. Police say additional charges may be pending.
