Zimmerman asks Fla. to pay some legal costs
Sanford, Fla. George Zimmermans legal team plans to ask the State of Florida to pay up to $300,000 of his legal expenses, according to his lawyer.
That would cover some of the money spent on expert witnesses, travel expenses and transcript fees during his murder trial.
Zimmerman, now 29, was acquitted July 13 in the February 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17.
Under Florida law, an acquitted defendant can ask the court to pay some of the costs in a case.
