1 dead, 6 wounded in overnight shootings
Rochester, N.Y. - Following multiple shootings Saturday evening, one person is dead and six others are wounded.
The Rochester Police Department said a fatality occured around 1 a.m. Police responded to multiple 911 calls in the area of 719 South Plymouth Avenue. Authorities say that a 59-year-old male was lying in the street. He was prounounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police say the homicide victim's death does not appear to be intentional at this time.
According to the police, there were three other victims on S. Plymouth. One female, 24, and two males, 21 and 22, suffered serious but non-life threatening gunshot injuries as well.
The Rochester Police Department also responded to shots fired near Jefferson Avenue around 11 p.m. Authorities say that when they arrived to the scene there were three male victims.
Apparently two of the three victims, 18 and 20, were standing in front of 550 Jefferson when they were shot. Both were transported to Strong and suffered from non-life threatening injuries.
The third victim, 19, was located at 651 Jefferson Avenue and was taken to Strong with non-life threatening injuries.
