State to fly flag at half-staff for Sgt. Michael Ollis

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Flags on state government buildings will be flown at half-staff Wednesday to honor a 24-year-old soldier from New York City killed in Afghanistan.

Military officials say Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis of Staten Island was killed this week by insurgents who attacked his unit in Ghani Province.

Ollis was an infantryman in the 10th Mountain Division's 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team based at Fort Drum in northern New York.
