3 hurt as gunman attacks car

Rochester, N.Y. (AP) - Three men are hospitalized after a gunman opened fire on a car on Gardiner Avenue in the city.

Rochester police said the attack happened just before midnight Saturday in a neighborhood in the southwest of the city.

They said a 20-year-old city man was hospitalized Sunday with life-threatening injuries; a 19-year-old from Irondequoit has serious injuries but is expected to live; and a 21-year-old from the city was hit in the arm.

Two other people in the car weren't injured.

Investigators said they don't believe the shooting is related to the killing several hours earlier of a 28-year-old man who was shot while sitting in a car several miles away from Gardiner.
