Local restaurants profit from PGA

Rochester, N.Y. - Restaurants all around the Rochester area are already seeing a bump in business thanks to the PGA Championship.

On Monday night, PGA golfer Sergio Garcia stepped into Delmonico's sparking a buzz inside the Brighton business.

Delmonico's isn't close to Oak Hill Country Club, yet its managers still expect an upswing in business.

Assistant General Manager Emily Streb said that the boost in business is coming from a combination of PGA shuttles leaving nearby Monroe Community College, and local hotels sending customers to their restaurant.

"Last night we saw a lot of business from the PGA, and we think it'll pick up," Streb said.

The Del Monte Lodge's Erie Grill in the village of Pittsford is also attracting more customers.

"It started actually yesterday," said Erie Grill General Manager Todd Plouffe. "A very busy day for us."

Restaurant managers said that it might be hard for customers to find an open table anywhere this week.

"We don't know what to expect," Plouffe.said. "But we're ready for it."

Sources, meanwhile, tell 13WHAM News that Tiger Woods dined at Pane Vino in Rochester on Monday night.
