Fans welcome the PGA

Pittsford, N.Y. -- Fishing for autographs may have been tough, but most fans say their experience during day one of the PGA Championship practice rounds was solid.

"It's pretty amazing. The course is beautiful, practice facilities it's great," said Richard Orbatka of Buffalo.

Approximately 27,000 fans lined the practice range and various holes, according to a spokesperson for the PGA Championship.

"It was a beautiful day and I wanted to see Tiger (Woods) & Phil Mickelson and I hope I do," said Jean Krumpp of Orchard Park.

Sophie Kelpis and her son Nicholas traveled to Rochester from their home in Canada with plans of getting autographs from Bubba Watson and Tiger Woods.

"Two days to get all the important people," said Kelpis. "It's an experience just to be here."

Practice rounds continue Tuesday.
