Bestselling children's author visits Rochester

Henrietta, N.Y. One of the top childrens authors in the country was in the Rochester area Saturday.

Anna Dewdney drew a crowd of several youngsters and their patents at the Calkins Road Wegmans.

The New York Times bestselling author and illustrator is known for her Llama Llama series.

Dewdney, who plans on writing several more books in the series, said Llama Llama hits home to children and their parents.

I think the reason they resonate with people is because they're very direct emotionally, and what I try to do is express the feelings of Llama Llama on the page as honestly as I can, she said. I think people can relate to his experiences."
