NY suing Donald Trump for faux university
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump Sunday for allegedly conning students out of thousands of dollars.
The lawsuit claims that Trumps online university, The Trump Entrepreneur Institute, acted as an unlicensed educational system that promised to teach Trumps real estate investing techniques.
Schneiderman says that over 5,000 people paid over $40 million to take courses from Trump himself or from instructors he claimed to have hand-picked.
Trump apparently did not choose a single professor at the institute and students did not receive the promised attention from an individual mentor. Many teachers ignored emails and phone calls after the seminar was over.
The petition says many people who paid for the courses were not able to make a single real estate deal and were left worse off than before enrolling.
Consumers with complaints against Trump University should file a complaint with the OAG. Complaint forms are available here.
