Woman talks down alleged school gunman

Decatur, Georgia New details have emerged about how a Georgia bookkeeper talked down a gunman threatening to shoot up an elementary school.

The alleged gunman, 20-year-old Michael Brandon Hill, is in custody, and all 800 students from that school are safe thanks in part to Antoinette Tuff. She was held captive, but convinced the gunman to eventually surrender after a brief shootout with police.

He said he didnt have any reason to live, Tuff said, and that he knew he was going to die today.

Tuff said she doesnt consider herself a hero.

Police are still trying to figure out a motive for the crime. Hills family said he has suffered from mental illnesses, and was arrested earlier this year for alleged terrorist threats.
