Yosemite wildfire grows

California - A wildfire outside Yosemite National Park in California has nearly quadrupled in size.

Officers have been going door-to-door, warning residents in the gated community of Pine Mountain Lake to evacuate their homes. But authorities say the evacuations are not mandatory. More than 250 homes have been evacuated.

California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency.

The fire has grown to more than 99 square miles and it's only 1 to 2-percent contained--down from 5 percent containment Wednesday.

It is one of 50 wildfires burning across the western U.S.
