USDA Beef recall, E. coli found

A Kansas-based beef packing company is recalling more than 50,000 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli.


National Beef Packing Company based in Liberal, KS issued a voluntary recall of its ground beef Wednesday after the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) found E. coli O157:H7 in a sample of its product.


All 50,100 pounds of the recalled beef have establishment number "EST. 208A" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced on July 18, 2013 and were shipped in 40 to 60 pound cases to retailers, wholesalers, and food service distributors nationwide.
