Federal government to defend Greece

Washington, D.C. - The federal government filed paperwork to speak on behalf of the town of greece in its upcoming Supreme Court Case.

At issue are prayers before town hall meetings. An appeals court ruled that the town violated the Constitution by opening nearly every meeting over an 11-year span with prayers that stressed Christianity.

Both President Obama's administration and Congressional Republicans submitted written arguments to the court in support of the Town of Greece.

In addition to the written argument, federal attorneys have now filed paperwork to present oral arguments before the high court in November.
