Buffalo Zoo's 2 polar bear cubs taking a break

Buffalo, N.Y. (AP) - The Buffalo Zoo's popular polar bear cubs are taking a break from the public eye as preparations are made to move them to a bigger space.
Zoo officials tell local media that Luna and Kali are being taken off exhibit starting Thursday and continuing for about a week. The officials say that will give the cubs time to adjust to their new holding area before they're moved to larger quarters.
When they go back on exhibit, the cubs will be on view in the current tiger exhibit area. The tigers are nocturnal animals and the zoo will move the bears into the space during the day, while the tigers will take over the space at night.
Kali arrived in Buffalo from Alaska in May. Luna was born at the zoo last November.
