Plea offer in Marcus Freeman rape case withdrawn

Rochester, N.Y.- The man arrested in a double shooting and homicide earlier this month on Pullman Avenue in Rochester appeared in court Thursday answering a rape charge.

Marcus Freeman is accused of raping a girl younger than 13 back in March.

In court Thursday, prosecutors withdrew a plea offer that was extended prior to the Pullman Avenue shootings.

He's back in court in October.

If convicted on the first-degree rape charge, Freeman faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison.

Freemans lawyer confirms the initial plea offer was for eight years in prison.
