Spengler's sister died of gunshot wound to head

Webster, N.Y. -- After nearly 9 months, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the remains found in William Spenglers 191 Lake Road home after the Christmas Eve ambush that killed two West Webster Firefighters.

The cause of death for Cheryl Spengler, 68, has been ruled a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Spengler shot four West Webster firefighters before taking his own life on that December day, killing Michael Chiapperini and Tomasz Kaczowka.
