Man attempted to rob Canandaigua store owner with knife

Canandaigua, N.Y. A Wayland man was arrested after threatening and attempting to rob a convenience store owner.

According to the Canandaigua Police Department, Clayton Brown, 22, allegedly entered the Western Mini Mart on South Main Street wearing a mask and carrying a knife.

Police said Brown demanded money from the stores owner and they got into a physical fight. Brown apparently dropped the knife and left the store.

Following a short car chase, Brown was arrested on West Lake Road and sent to Ontario County Jail for attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
