Women rule at Buffalo's wing-eating contest

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Miki Sudo may be small, but she rules the roost when it comes to scarfing chicken wings.

The 28-year-old Las Vegas woman, weighing in at 115 pounds, chowed down 178 wings at the U.S. Professional Wing Eating Championship Sunday at the Buffalo wing festival. Michelle Lesco of Tucson, Ariz., came in second, followed by five-time champion Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas of Alexandria, Va.

Last year's winner, pro eater Joey Chestnut, was a no-show.

Sudo, who turned pro on the eating circuit in April, also won Saturday's Buffet Bowl Contest featuring Buffalo food classics like beef on weck, pizza and wings.
