USPS truck stolen at gunpoint

Rochester, N.Y. - A 59-year-old United States Postal Service driver was held at gunpoint Saturday afternoon and forced to hand over his delivery truck.

According to the Rochester Police Department, officers responded to 693 Ridgeway Avenue for a possible robbery shortly before noon.

The USPS worker was apparently delivering mail when a vehicle blocked his way, and a male Hispanic got out of the vehicle.

The suspect allegedly told the victim to get out of the delivery vehicle at gunpoint. The driver complied and the suspect drove off in the mail truck.

Police said the stolen vehicle was located a couple of blocks away from the incident. It is unknown at this time if any mail was stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.
