Deputies: 3-year-old killed by horse and buggy

Waterloo, N.Y. A 3-year-old boy has died after jumping from a horse and buggy Wednesday.

The Seneca County Sheriffs Office said Chris Schumucker Junior, 36, was driving an Amish wagon down Whiskey Hill Road in Waterloo with his three sons David (10), Victor (6) and Lester (3). The family was transporting lambs from one pasture to another.

In a press release Thursday, authorities said Lester allegedly jumped off the wagon and when the young boy attempted to jump back on, he was run over by the wheel of the wagon.

Lester was transferred to Geneva General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
