Regal Cinema closed after hundreds fight

Irondequoit, N.Y. The Irondequoit Police Department broke up a fight at the Regal Cinema movie theater on Ridge Road in Irondequoit around 9:45 p.m. Friday night.

Four-hundred to five-hundred people, mostly teenagers, started fighting inside the theater where Insidious: Chapter 2 was playing, according to police.

The fight spilled out of the theater and into the parking lot.

No one was hurt but a knife and large piece of metal were found in the theater by police.

One person was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Multiple police agencies were called in to help break up the fights including the Rochester Police Department, Webster Police Department, NY State Police, and the Monroe County Sheriffs Office.

RTS was also called into help transport some of the teenagers home, since the theater closed early and many needed rides.

Police tell us this isnt the first fight to break out at this theater, but they do not believe this fight was planned.
