Back to school at RCSD

Rochester, N.Y. - Going back to school this fall means longer school days for students in the city.

School board president Malik Evans addressed this on August 13.

A lot of these things that we're having are bringing us into equilibrium with a lot of schools across the county, he said. And if we want our students to do better on exams and do better in life, they need more time in terms of their education.

When asked how he felt about longer school days, student Kahlile Carter said, I think its good for the students because theyll get more learning time for the future when theyre in college.and for me, I get to learn more.

At the Leadership Academy for Young Men on Lake Avenue, when Carter was asked about wearing a uniform to class, he said, Being able to dress professionally is a good way for the teachers to deal with you like a young adult.
