New bullying policy at Catholic schools

Rochester, N.Y. - Local Catholic schools are adopting a new policy that targets bullying behavior.

Teachers within the Diocese of Rochester will undergo training next month in the nationally-recognized Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.

The approach focuses on all students, not just bullies or those who are bullied.

The program will include a series of parent information sessions. Students will be encouraged to talk to their parents if they witness bullying.

The new approach to bullies will take effect in January.
