City leaders show resolve after Richards bows out

Rochester, N.Y. Several Rochester political and business leaders expressed confidence in Lovely Warren after Mayor Tom Richards backed out of the mayoral race Tuesday.

Larry Glazer, CEO of Buckingham Properties, said he was not discouraged by the news adding, this is an opportunity for Lovely to be a great mayor.

Warren will run against Green Party candidate Alex White in November, but it is likely Warren will cruise to victory.

Long-time city councilor, Carolee Conklin, does not expect upheaval upon Warrens arrival and a subsequent changeover of senior management.

Weve weathered this storm before and well weather it again, Conklin said.

Rochester Business Alliances Sandy Parker says Warren has the potential to continue to push the city in a positive direction.

She needs strong people around her to carry out the vision she has for the community, Bob Duffy did it with folks he brought in to help him and Tom Richards certainly did that with people he brought in to help him, Parker said.
