Seeking Syrian solution

Washington - As U.S. leaders take to the international stage to push a diplomatic solution to Syria, Russian president Vladimir Putin is criticizing the U.S. for even considering military action against Bashar Assad's regime.

In an op-ed piece in the New York Times, the Russian leader said America is no longer a model for democracy and its military involvement in other international conflicts is "alarming."

Meanwhile, the White House is trying to pin the success or failure of a plan for Syria to destroy its chemical weapons -- on Russia.

Secretary of State John Kerry is headed to Geneva Thursday morning where he'll meet with Russian leaders to discuss that proposal.
