Badge of Honor, NYSDOT reach agreement

Brighton, N.Y. Justin Collins, the president of the Badge of Honor Association, confirmed that the association and New York State Department of Transportation have reached an agreement.

Collins said New York State Department of Transportation and the Badge of Honor Association have agreed on a proposal to put up signs for fallen police officers. The signs must be green and contain a little amount of information, but police say they agree with the decision.

Signs will be placed on the highway where officers have passed away while serving in the line of duty.

Senator Joseph Robach promised to push through the necessary legislation through the state legislature, and they hope to start putting up signs in January, starting with seven Monroe County Sheriffs Deputies.
