Taxes due, but shutdown prevents issue of refunds

Washington - The government may be shut down but that doesn't mean you're off the hook for taxes.

Taxes are due Tuesday for anyone who requested a six-month extension in April.

However, the Internal Revenue Service says it won't issue any refunds until normal government operations resume.

The IRS has kept most of its workers at home since the shutdown began.
