A special reunion for siblings separated at birth
Rochester, N.Y. - Ron Farabell never knew he had a sister. Pam Jo-Maria Arnold was told her mother died at birth and that she had no siblings. For more than 60 years they lived in different states, never knowing they had siblings.
That changed when Pam called Catholic Family Services to search for information on her birth mother. She learned she had two brothers and sent out 46 letters to family members with her birth name of Teresi.
That lead to a phone call from Ron Farabell, who lives in Sodus Bay. He told her: "I think I am your brother."
The two corresponded for two months before final meeting Friday night at the Greater Rochester Airport.
They hugged, kissed and cried. Pam said "We have a lot of years to make up."
The family is planning a huge reunion Saturday in Batavia and the siblings plan to stay in touch after that and visit each other when they can.
It was especially touching for Pam to finally see a picture of her mother. The siblings also realized how much they looked alike. Both have crystal blue eyes and bright smiles.
