Rochester gets can-structive

Rochester, N.Y. You probably notice construction just about everywhere you go in the Rochester area, but Canstruction took over Downtown Saturday.

The eighth annual Canstruction event at Bausch & Lombs Winter Garden featured teams building movie-themed models out of cans. Designs included Jaws, Up and even Rochesters own The Little theater.

Organizer Ken Glazer said the event used more than 30,000 canned goods, which would all be donated to Foodlink.

"It's a great time of year, Glazer said. People are starting to be aware it's getting cold, people need some food sometimes. Thanksgiving is when it seems like we start seeing cupboards filling up, and we're more aware, so timing-wise it's good."
