Chrysler recalling more than 140,000 pick-ups, SUVs

Chrysler is recalling more than 140,000 pick-up trucks and SUVs worldwide because of a software glitch.

The recall involves 132,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees and nearly 11,000 Ram pick-up trucks from the 2014 model year. The automaker says software problems could cause warning lights to randomly light up and lead to a blackout of the instrument panel lighting. Chrysler traced the problem to electronic modules in the antilock braking system.

Those with affected vehicles will be notified by mail, and Chrysler will upgrade the software at no cost. Chrysler says there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to this issue.
