9 women inducted at Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls

Seneca Falls, N.Y. -- People from all over the country are in Seneca Falls this weekend for an event that only happens every two years: the induction into the National Women's Hall of Fame.

Seneca Falls is also home to the Women's Rights National Historical Park. It's a popular stop for visitors to the induction ceremony-- but not this year.

The National Women's Rights Park, run by the Interior Department, is one of the many agencies closed by the government shutdown.

Visitors who come to see the birthplace of women's rights can still visit the privately funded National Women's Hall of Fame and other sites but nearby businesses says the park's loss is noticeable.

Saturday, nine women will be inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls.
