RG&E completes $50 million upgrades
Rochester, N.Y. RG&E has completed the upgrades to the substation on Harris Road in Penfield.
The upgrades included putting in two 186-ton transformers. The updates cost $50 million, and took three years to complete.
These upgrades significantly improve the power capacity and power quality at the station, Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E said in a statement. Adding state of the art technology like this strengthens our infrastructure and enhances the reliability of our system for the benefit of our customers in eastern Monroe and western Wayne counties.
