Several Webster families fall victim to burglarers
Webster, N.Y. Webster resident Sarah Glover is the latest victim who home was targeted by thieves.
Glover and her mother both had their purses stolen. The thieves also took a cell phone left charging in the kitchen.
You just feel very annoyed, said Glover. Angry that someone has just walked into your house because it may not mean nothing to them but it can really devastate the people it happens to.
Glover is not alone in feeling this way. Six other families felt the same devastation last week on Cherry Laurel Circle. Thousands of dollars in electronics, jewelry and cash were stolen all while the homeowners were asleep.
Some residents are taking action before they become the next victim.
Cynthia Reaves heard the news of the burglaries and immediately took action. She installed a security system the next day.
I felt like our entire neighborhood was invaded, said Reaves. So it kind of took me by surprise because I'd leave my windows open and now I don't do that anymore.
As for Glover she says she normally keeps her doors and windows locked but forgot just that once - something she said she won't make the mistake of doing again.
