Three people shot on Pierpont Street

Rochester, N.Y. - The Rochester Police Department responded to a Shotspotter activation on Pierport Street early Sunday morning.

Upon investigation, officers discovered a large group of people in the vicinity and one confirmed shooting victim, a 18-year-old male. The victim on scene, a city resident, had gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body.

Authorities said two more victims arrived by private vehicle to Rochester General Hospital. Police said both victims, a 22-year-old male and 17-year-old female, suffered from gunshot wounds to their lower bodies.

Apparently the motive is unclear at this time, but the scene was spread out over a city block. Police confirmed that shots did strike 145 Pierpont Street but no one inside was injured.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
